Why it exists
The journey from a rural village to the bustling markets of Accra is one taken by thousands of young women every year. Many arrive with hope, only to find themselves trapped in the exhausting cycle of carrying heavy loads just to survive.
Porter Path Foundation was born from that exact experience. We exist because we know the weight of those burdens, and we know that with the right support, education, and mentorship, those same young women can carry hope instead.
Our work spans from the streets of Accra back to the villages, creating a continuous path of support, skills training, and educational resources.
Our Programmes
Kayayei Empowerment Program
Skills training and counselling for head porters in Accra, offering viable alternative livelihoods and a supportive community.
Street to School Initiative
Helping children living on the streets return to formal education by covering fees, uniforms, and providing ongoing mentorship.
Village Student Support Project
Supporting students in rural communities with educational materials and mentorship to prevent them from dropping out.
